To Mr. Akio Miyajima,
Chairman of Group commemorating Wings From Turkey

1985年3月19日、イラン・イラク戦争の中、テヘランにいました多くの日本人の生命をトルコの皆様に救っていただきました。
戦時中で救助にあたったトルコの方々にも危険があるにもかかわらず、日本人のために特別機を派遣して助けてくださったことは40年経過した今でも感謝の念に堪えません。
美しく花開くチューリップがトルコ共和国と日本をより強い絆で結びつけています。
その日の感謝の思いを忘れず、これからもトルコ共和国と日本との友好関係を築き両国の発展を願っております。

On March 19th 1985 during Iran-Iraq War, Turky saved lives of many Japanes citizens left in Tehran.
Even today 40 years later, we are still so grateful for the rescue operation cerried out by Turkish people despite of a dangerous situation in the mddle of war.
Beautiful tulips tie Republic of Turky and Japan.
With the gratitude remaining in my heart, I hope the friendship between Republic of Turky and Japan the properous futuer of both countries will be everlasting.
