〜感謝を捧げる献花式〜に寄せて On the Flower Offering for the 40th anniversary of Turkish Airline’s rescue of Japanese citizens

40年前、イラン・イラク戦争の混乱の中で、多くの日本人がトルコの皆様の勇気と善意によって救われました。その深い友情と人道的な行動に、改めて心からの感謝を捧げます。
あの日の絆は今もなお日本とトルコの強い結びつきの象徴であり、私たちの心に刻まれています。
本日の献花式が、両国の友好をさらに深め、未来へと続く平和と協力の礎となることを願っております。

In a chaotic situation of Iran-Iraq war in 1985, many Japanese citizens were rescued Turkish people’s courage and good will. Commemorating such deep friendship and humanitarian actions of Turkish people, now again I express my sincere gratitude.
The ties on the day of Turkish Recue is one of the most important emblems of strong bond of both countries and engraved in our hearts.
I hope the flower offering today will be the basis to deepen our friendship and peace and collaboration in the future.
